What is it about eggnog that is so polarizing? Oh yeah… the drinking of the egg part. As egg fanatics, we find no issue in having egg involved in our cocktail. This was our first time that we made eggnog from scratch and we decided to give it a coconut cream twist. Christmas is only a few days away, whip up a batch for your celebration!Read More
Most people assume the best time to drink a Paloma cocktail is in the summer. In reality, this tequila cocktail is perfect for the winter months because fresh, ruby red grapefruit is in season! We decided to kick it up a notch and also add some heat.Read More
This cocktail is a holiday drink recipe we actually created last fall. There are a few reasons why we love this champagne cocktail: 1) It is super simple to make, which means it takes minimal prep time. 2) The drink feels fancy even though it is just a two-ingredient cocktail. 3) It is festive for fall and an awesome Thanksgiving cocktail recipe to share with friends and family.Read More
Now that the season is starting to change, we decided to come up with a fall cocktail: a new twist on a Hot Toddy. What’s in a Hot Toddy? When we asked Gavin’s mom what else we could bring to our Easter luncheon and she requested Sangria, it was time to get creative with what we had available in the kitchen. Since we discovered we were reaching a shortage of red wine, we grabbed a bottle of white and looked for whatever fruit we had in the fruit bowl. This low calorie sangria is light, refreshing, and full of citrus flavor.Read More

Our friend Sophie introduced us to a new cocktail mixer called Owls Brew and we are hooked! Owls Brew is a low calorie mixer comprised of flavorful tea, agave, and water. That's it! You can simply mix the Owls Brew with the liquor of your choice, but we wanted to take our favorite cocktails and give them a low-cal flavor upgrade.
This is our twist on the mojito. We used the Wicked Green Owls Brew because it comes with a habanero kick, so we’ll call this one a Mo-heat-o. J A traditional mojito is made by muddling sugar with lime juice and mint leaves. We substituted the sugar for the slightly sweet Owls Brew, but it you want a sweeter cocktail go ahead and mix some sugar back in.
- 2 oz Wicked Green Owl’s Brew
- 1.5 oz white rum
- 12 sprigs of mint
- Juice of one lime
- 1 tsp sugar (optional)
Use a muddler to smash together the lime juice, mint leaves, and sugar if you'd like. Add the rum and Owls Brew, cover with another glass and shake until cold and well mixed. Garnish with mint leaves and a lime wedge.
If you are wondering where to find The Owls Brew, you can buy it online or click here to find them in retail locations.
