Apple Cider Mimosa Recipe

There are two types of people in the world. Those who like their mimosas (or mi-mos as we like to call them) heavy on the juice, and those who like it heavy on the champagne. No matter your preference we know you’ll LOVE this apple cider mimosa cocktail recipe!

This cocktail is a holiday drink recipe we actually created last fall. We shared it on our Instagram account and finally realized that we never actually added this fall mimosa to our website. There are a few reasons why we love this champagne cocktail: 1) It is super simple to make, which means it takes minimal prep time. 2) It feels fancy even though it is just a two-ingredient cocktail. 3) It is festive for fall and an awesome Thanksgiving cocktail recipe to share with friends and family.

When two of our friends got engaged this week, we knew it was the perfect time to have a fall-themed dinner party to celebrate. This apple cider cocktail was such a tasty (and seasonal) welcome drink. We loved how quick it was to serve a large group, and simple enough to make while still holding a conversation with our close friends.

Apple Cider Mimosa Recipe

Serves 6 (but who’s to say two people couldn’t finish these all themselves?!?)

Ingredients:

  • 1 bottle of champagne or sparkling wine
  • 1 bottle of apple cider
  • Optional: Brown sugar and water to garnish your glass

The recipe is super basic, using only sparkling wine and apple cider. To jazz it up a bit, we rimmed champagne flutes with brown sugar. Start by preparing two small plates. One should have about ¼ inch of water on it, the other plate should have about a ¼ inch thick covering of brown sugar. Start by dipping the top of the champagne flute in the water. Next, dip the top of the flute into the brown sugar to make the sparkling brown sugar rim.

The next step is easy-peasy. Fill the champagne glass half full of sparkling wine, then add the apple cider. We usually go with a 60% champagne to 40% juice ratio, but feel free to adjust your proportions to your liking. When you make this cocktail for friends and family be sure to tag us in the photo on social media – we’d love to see it. Cheers!
