Ahhh... Valentine's Day. Some people love it, some people hate it. Most people likely think it is our favorite holiday. I was reminded yesterday as my flight landed after a business trip as Gavin waited for me at the bottom of the escalator with flowers in hand (as he always does), that little gestures of love should happen all throughout the year. We compiled our top 5 Valentines Day dinner recommendations for a segment on Studio 512 for you, but these could be used for a fantastic romantic evening, any day of the year.

Here is the breakdown of our top picks:
Uchi: We had to include the site of our first date. Awwww... Uchi is world renowned for some of the best sushi around. Why is eating raw fish oddly romantic? If you are on a budget, consider visiting them for happy hour for some terrific half off specials.
Vox Table: We just adore this spot. The food is really inventive, the menu changes with new items frequently, and their cocktails are always fun. Past cocktails we have tried include "Tom Selleck's Mustache" and "Sweatpants with Uggs". When you go, you have to try their hamachi pipettes, one of our favorite bites in town! This is also a great spot if you're looking for a "dinner and a movie" date as the theater is across the street.
La Traviata: You can't have a Valentine's Day list without some pasta! How else will you be able to stare lovingly into each other's eyes while slurping up the same noodle? This cozy spot makes their own pasta, of course. In a town of new restaurants opening and closing every month it seems, we appreciate that this place has been a staple on Congress Avenue for over 15 years. I love the steak salad (any salad that comes with fingerling potatoes and truffle oil is a winner in my book) and Gavin recommends the carbonara.
The Driskill Grill: It’s known for old world charm and upscale cuisine that you’re sure to love. Old hotels are simply so romantic. Indulge in their steak covered in foie gras or simply share a bottle of wine in their gorgeous bar.
Eden East: This hidden gem is located on Springdale Farms. Start by walking around the farm under the twinkling lights and then enjoy a set menu that is literally farm to table. Another plus? It’s BYOB, so you can bring your favorite bottle to celebrate the evening.
I'm sure you are wondering where we are going to be celebrating! We are actually headed north to the adorable town of Georgetown, Texas. This is a short drive from the city, and features one of our favorite fine dining spots: The Hollow. The chef, who worked at Michelin-star restaurants in Europe, creates sophisticated food with a fresh perspective.
Wishing you all a great Valentines Day!
