How to make new friends: Couple in the Kitchen + BumbleBFF Guys Night Out
Both Karen and I are Austin transplants (just like 90% of Austin now-a-days) and know the feeling of needing a way to meet new friends. Sometimes as an adult, you might find yourself searching for how to meet people in a new city. Bumble is an amazing local Austin start-up, and they recently launched BumbleBFF so you can meet new friends or contacts in your area. In order to expand the positive impact of BumbleBFF, I partnered up with them to throw an event geared to get guys out of their own way and to make new friends; let’s be honest guys are much more stubborn when it comes to making new buddies.
The concept of the event was geared around making new friends with Thursday Night Football, whiskey, beer, and fantastic Bumble swag (all of which were perfect for bringing all the boys to the yard). The event was on the Green Light Social rooftop overlooking Austin’s west 6th bar district, and we were lucky to have Budweiser and Treaty Oak Whiskey join us for the festivities.
Walking into the event, I didn’t quite know what to expect, but once everyone settled in with a cocktail, it made it easier to start talking about fantasy football and how everyone’s season was going. Throwing the event, I personally benefited from BumbleBFF and became buds with two guys. We even learned that we had a mutual friend in common. Small world! It’s going to be easy to invite them to group events or my monthly poker tournaments as a result of being introduced via the BumbleBFF event.
Going into the holiday season, BumbleBFF is a fantastic outlet to meet new friends when seeing family or when you are traveling in a new city. Download bumble from the app store and set it to BFF mode to join in on the fun!
